Soldiers

Down under, Kev has been watching closely as the low-lifes of Iraq continue to play the terror game. But they might just have crossed a line they’ll regret as a “team of Special Air Service reconnaissance specialists has hit the ground in Iraq…. equipped with sophisticated eavesdropping devices.”

As Kev points out,

Sophisticated eavesdropping devices is not all they will be equiped with.

And Kev is pretty serious about all this with elections due shortly in Australia as well as the US. He has reverted to his war-face photo.

Who’s the Boss?

Filed under: Government — Bunker @ 5:14 pm

One of the things that always made me grit my teeth when dealing with Federal elected officials was the condescension they exhibited. I met only one or two who didn’t act like I should bow down before them. And I dealt with many during my military career. Congressmen are not in the chain of military command.

Elected officials are supposed to work for us. We are the bosses, and bestow a trust upon them to act in our stead.

George W. Bush understands this. John F. Kerry doesn’t. I don’t believe we need debate any further which is better qualified to be President.

No Blogs in CC

I got an email from Jim Lago last night and he asked me to be on the show every Thursday morning. He also mentioned being on his Saturday program. So, I called him this morning and agreed, except that Saturday morning is GOLF! We’ll discuss it more tonight. He has a plan for Saturdays, and I’ll see what we can arrange.

We talked about blogs, and he asked if I was surprised there seems to be none here in town. Yes. Corpus Christi has 275,000+ people, and all we’ve been able to locate are three personal diary-type weblogs. I’ll do some searching today between tasks.

I may also be calling on some of you, so keep those voices in good order.

Bluejay Dan

I believe Mark Twain was the greatest observer of human nature of all time. And he had Dan Rather pegged a century ago.

Humor, a jay knows when he is an ass just as well as you do — maybe better. If a jay ain’t human, he better take in his sign, that’s all.

Read all of Baker’s Blue-Jay Yarn to see what I mean.
