Chirac in Hanoi

Filed under: International — Bunker @ 10:06 am

DRUDGE has this today.

Speaking at a French cultural center in Hanoi ahead of Friday’s opening of a summit of European and Asian leaders, Chirac said France was right to stand up for cultural and linguistic diversity.

I wonder if he spoke in French or Vietnamese.

  3. What’s the point here? We should hate the Vietnamese? The French are vile for not hating the Vietnamese? Please tell me the point so that I can belong to your all-knowing little club…

  4. Pretty simple…If linguistic diversity is important to him, I’m just curious if he made the effort to speak Vietnamese.

    Jumping to conclusions?

  5. It’s pretty funny to hear a frenchman talk about linguistic diversity when the French quite literally have a language police to prevent the importation of foreign words (and therefore the evolution) into their language.

  6. And besides, if all of the countries of the world were democracies, they’d have no one left to exploit, as they did Viet Nam & the Iraqi people, to name just a couple of examples.
