  1. I think anyone who declares a winner in last night’s debate is being predictably partisan. I thought both men performed very well. However, and it’s a very big “HOWEVER”, everything said last night was well rehearsed for days before the event. So we heard nothing new, nothing original, nothing off the cuff, no spur of the moment thinking from either man. In my humble opinion, these debates are a colossal waste of time.

The moment of truth has to be; your personal feelings about each man’s position on the issues. The number one issue facing American right now is the war on terror. Who do you feel has a better grip on the reality of this war? Which man best understands the premise that in time of war you will spend the Nation’s last dollar to defend against agression? Which man has the most clear vision of the outcome?

Most of us have already made up our minds. Why bother?

  2. That’s precisely why I didn’t watch.

  3. My “score” for the debate, based on a 10 point system. I give Kerry anywhere from a 6.5 to a 7.5, and Bush was no worse than .5 behind. It was a close debate, I watched CSPAN’s coverage, but mostly listened while at my ‘puter. From what I saw when looking away from the monitor, I saw one guy looking calm and relaxed, and one guy pissed off about missing his bed time to have to stand there and be criticized. Just my opinion I could be wrong.
