For those who skoffed, I received the following in response to my suggestion:
Mr. Johnson asked that I reply to your letter of April 20, 2005 regarding an internet blog prior to and during the Masters Tournament.
While your plan is well conceived and interesting, at this time we prefer to utilize traditional means to communicate with our visitors on masters.org.
Thank you for your interest in the Masters, and I look forward to reading your work on Bunker Mulligan.
Signed by the Director of Communications, whose name I will keep private.
I’ll continue to ask. And I’ll get a “Thank you” letter in the mail tomorrow.
Hey, at least you know that they’ve checked out BM.
It’s a good idea though. Have you tried to backdoor you’re way in through Golf Magazine or one of the other mags? Maybe they could sponsor you.

You know what I really hate? When people type “you’re” when they mean “your”.

Keep trying, Bunker – point out that the meaning of traditional is going through an itsy bitsy change these days! Kind of funny to call it ‘traditional’ on Masters.org, which didn’t exist not-that-many-years-ago …
*Grin*

Doesn’t it get your goat when they type “there” when they really mean “their”

Rob, I want to go as an independent, or as an official member of masters.org rather than as someone from MSM. Barb is right, and I think Hootie Johnson understands that. Eventually, some blogger will have the kind of access I requested, and our personal involvement in the Masters telecast will be enhanced. I’d like that first blogger to be me, but think it would be good whomever gets the chance.

I feel your pain. The America’s Cup turned me down the last time around. I’m not giving up, though!
