UML Guy also takes a poke at Kristof’s article on nukuler energy.

Damn engineers keep throwing that logic stuff at op-ed writers!

  1. So, what do you think of pebble bed reactor technology?

  2. It’s a little faddish right now: you can’t read an article on nuclear without the words “pebble bed” and “safer” cropping up. I suspect that most of the people saying/writing that are as ignorant of what it means as I am. Your link is the first real in-depth explanation I’ve seen. Thanks!

  3. The article implies this would be a safe power source for vehicles. I’m skeptical. Once a gas leak occurs, the temperatures would be phenomenal.

I think we may have to wait until there are no more crashes.
