My hosting service disappeared without warning. Now I’m two weeks behind. Better than losing four months’ worth, I guess.

Yeah! You are back. Any word about what happened?

hi Mike. Missed you while you were down. I don’t know what happened either, but I’m sure we will find out soon. Backup while you can. …

Nothing like getting a clean start. Would be nice if it was your idea though!

I think the left did it. It’s a conspiracy.

Bunker! It’s so good to see you again! Bummer about losing the recent material, though 🙁

Dang. It just can’t make up its mind whether to stay or go. I have a backup for everything up to 29 October. I never was able to connect to my database once I moved to WP, so everything written in WP is gone unless the hosting service can recover it for me.
Rammer, you were on the same system, but using MT. Did you have a MySQL running for that? If so, send me an email and maybe you can walk me through the connection.
Still no word on Kate?

I do use mySQL to support MT. But i use MT’s built in back up feature to export my content from the database periodically. (Punctilious made me do it. Yay her.) So I don’t know how to get the data out of your mySQL database for WP. However, Our site came back current to first of February with al of the information still in the MySQL as of that time. Perhaps your site has its information up till 1 February as well. Is there a way in WP to republish all? Then you can back that all up.
